Ms. Susan W. Ebner, Esquire

Washington, D.C. 20006

Dear Ms. Ebner:

This replies to your submission of documents addressed to the Acting Inspector General, Department of Defense, received by this office on August 14, 2006. As I mentioned when we spoke by telephone last week, the Defense Hotline, Office of the Inspector General, has copies of a voluminous correspondence between Militec and various Government officials on the issue for which your client has retained your firm: the failure of the Army to allow Soldiers to use MILITEC-1 as a weapons lubricant, especially in desert environments like Iraq and Afghanistan. The Defense Hotline and Office of the Inspector General previously have reviewed this issue and concluded that appropriate and independent reviews were conducted to reach the Army's decision to authorize only certain lubricants for use on Soldiers' weapons. Nevertheless, I have forwarded your submission to the Defense Hotline for their review and consideration.

If you have other matters you want the Office of the Inspector General to consider, you should submit them directly to the Defense Hotline, at Department of Defense Hotline, 1900 Defense Pentagon, Washington, D.C. 20301-1900.

Sincerely,

Michael S. Child Associate General Counsel
