The Army's specifications for a cleaning, lubricant, protectant (CLP) requires a product to serve three functions 1) as a lubricant, 2) as a cleaner, and 3) as a protector against corrosion in a broad range of environments.
MILITEC had been available for requisition through the Defense Logistics Agency for use by soldiers as a small arms lubricant by soldiers since 1995 (wrong-1993). In March 2003, DLA ceased filling requisitions for MILITEC, and informed the Army of that decision (wrong- you have it backwards- the Army notified DLA). Although MILITEC did not actually meet the Army's corrosion protection requirements, (1960's era simulated lab test) [and now it's the flour test at APG] it was being used by some soldiers in the field based on individual preference (wrong-used by thousands in theater). The Army wanted to ensure the product would continue to be available to those soldiers who wanted to use it (wrong-more war orders were cancelled after this misleading public press release).
The Army Materiel Command has requested the Defense Logistics Agency continue to offer the MILITEC lubricant for requisition, and they have continued to do so (wrong-ARDEC made a phone call due to pressure-no paper trail). The Army Materiel Command will reevaluate this request upon completion of the evaluation of small arms lubricants in desert conditions. (THIS COULD NOT BE MORE WRONG-A SIMULATED FLOUR TEST @ APG is NOT DESERT CONDITIONS)
The Army has received mixed reports on the performance of small arms lubricants during Operation Iraqi Freedom. We have a responsibility to place the best products and equipment in the hands of our warfighters. (DEAD WRONG-ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS-CLP IS STILL BEING ISSUED) The Army Materiel Command has formed a multi-service Integrated Process Team to rapidly evaluate candidate products from small arms weapon lubricants producers in desert conditions. (DEAD WRONG AGAIN-ITS BEEN OVER TWO YEARS AND THEIR SIMULATED TESTING IS NOT DONE-and CLP CLOBBERED MILITEC-1 @ APG) Lubricant producers will be invited to submit samples for test and evaluation. The U.S. Army Research Development and Engineering Command, a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Materiel Command, is responsible for the conduct of the evaluation and multi-service Integrated Process Team( The misconduct by the author of this public press release is responsible for, and is protecting his civilian team members that still support the Army's twenty-five year old defective lubricant) .
BRAD'S ADDITIONAL COMENT: Since Michael C. Schexnayder can't be truthful with the Press regarding a small business, he can't be trusted to be honest in future dealings regarding our company. If in doudt, please read the record in his own words and his lack of addressing the safety of our troops.
