Brad
There are no units to my knowledge using graphite or other dry lubricant. Far as i can tell from all the old vets who were here 13 years ago, the dry stuff,"dried" and did not "lube."
I have been here three years now, and you can relay to Gen XXXX that MILITEC is the only lubricant that works out here. Now, the 3ID is endorsing it by allowing its units to buy it, Special Forces here use it and now the 82d. The Brits are highly interested and have a really lousy lubricant, by their own admission. All lubes work well for a short time, MILITEC goes the long ball, stays on the weapon and works. Cleaning after firing is a simple, uncomplicated and rather fast task.
When I personally witnessed SAW's, M240's,cal. 50's, MK 19's and M16's and pistols firing in 140 degree F heat in July, you can imagine I was impressed. My congrats to SSG XXX XXXXXX of TF 1-41, Ft. Riley, Kansas (Big Red One)for pioneering the effort to keep his unit]'s weapons firing.
You may relay to Gen XXXX, that it is not my observation here that units prefer the milspec, they hate it. I have trained 16 battalion sized units and they hate the milspec stuff, which you still have to shake, like a cocktail, to work. And then it does not work.
I am available for comment to Gen XXXX or any of his staff to forward my personal observations as the MPRI LFX coordinator. If it shoots out here, I know about it and have established many gunnery exercises that conclusively prove the value of MILITEC. My master gunner team is sold on MILITEC and encourages units to use it. Our logistic personnel here do likewise. Please forward to Gen XXXX my e mail and I will be glad to discuss with him or any member of his staff.
thanks for the recent free samples. troops chase me down asking for MILITEC.
