Brad:
RE: Our earlier e-mail conversation regarding your products and U.S. Air Force small arms.
I was just informed through official Air Force Channels that Militec-1 is not (repeat, is NOT) authorized for use on U.S. Air Force small arms weapons. According to the guidance that I received, it would seem that, at least as far as the Air Force is concerned, Militec-1 is unauthorized for use by the Army, as well.
While my personal opinion would be in direct opposition to this (were it expressed), please understand my position. I am a civilian defense contractor, working for the Air Force. Subsequently, I am compelled to follow their directives in matters such as this. If I rock the boat too much, I may well find myself unemployed.
Sincerely,

Subject: Re: Militec and the Air Force/WILL GET BETTER
Dear XXX,
This vendetta against us started back in 1990 when we first advised Ft. Belvoir (Maurice LePera-The former Head Frenchman for fuels and lubes) that MilSpec CLP will not work in Desert Shield and then Desert Storm.
The holding of the status quo has been passed down to his subordinates @ Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. who still consider MilSpec CLP to be state-of-the-art. The M16 and the M9 manuals have not been updated to reflect the changing environments our forces encounter. These manuals currently supplied in theater specifically, and only call for, CLP and LSA. As you know, these products must be used "wet" to be effective. However, in the desert, if you follow the book, your weapon is now a dust magnet that may jam when its needed most. This in my view hurts our Troops.
The Civilians at Picatinny are so upset at me that holding the status quo and flunking MILITEC-1 at Aberdeen Proving Grounds is their last attempt to make us look bad and a weak attempt to justify their desert lubricant testing program in a (Maryland) simulated desert environment. Our Troops are in a live testing laboratory firing weapons everyday in theater, however, the Picatinny folks will tell you the troops' AAR's and long term use of MILITEC-1 in combat is only anecdotal. UNBELIEVABLE.
The Military PM's (05's and 6's) at Picatinny are afraid to buck the civilian system with their retirement around the corner and will not stand up for our troops, in fear of alienating the career bureaucrats that may want to hire them. THERE IS NO ONE IN THEATER THAT SUPPORTS THE USE OF MILSPEC CLP. What does that tell you. In my twenty years of working with our troops, I swear to God, I have never heard, seen, first or second hand anyone that has supported MilSpec CLP in desert operations. The only supporters are a handful of folks (@ TACOM/ARDEC AND NOW RDECOM) with an agenda to keep their redundant lab programs funded, while ducking for cover.
The bottom line is this: Our Troops know what works in combat and are demanding MILITEC-1 in such great numbers that the Gatekeepers at Picatinny cannot admit they were wrong since Desert Storm. Who would admit that their position in support of a defective product is responsible for jammed weapons and dead troops. This is why they will NEVER let us in to their system and will fall on their swords. If they can't get something as simple as gun oil right, how in the heck can these Lab managers, and the like, justify their tax payer existence.
The Secret Service has mandated us since 1992 and the Army Gatekeepers (who have control over Air Force Small Arms) insists our product does not work. However, last year DLA had a hard time keeping up with demand for MILITEC-1 http://www.militec.com/mildocs/07_26_04.html and next month we are being awarded a multi-million contract.
To say MILITEC-1 is not authorized by the Army/Air Force http://www.militec.com/firearms/nsns.html is dead wrong, and this is the Gatekeepers last attempt to discredit us and make us look foolish, until their house of cards come tumbling down.
We will supply our troops with free supplies for as long as weapons are jamming and they need us. We are receiving over 500 requests a week from our troops. They are requesting our product because they know how useless MilSpec CLP is and they want to come home in one piece. If CLP worked, our troops would not be requesting MILITEC-1 24/7.
And finally, the system will have to change by force and I hope our troops are NEVER held hostage again by a few Army civilians that influence all branches of our Great Armed Forces.
Be safe!
Brad
