Subject: Fw: Cancelled orders for Iraq
Hi Russ,
Can you believe what Director Trahan just wrote? Obviously, he is protecting the system, and has not read the full record contained on our website. Since the DoD IG Hotline director is protecting the system (and himself), I wonder how many more troops will be killed and injured on his watch? Director Trahan is a fine example of why his office requires an overhaul. Furthermore, he cites selective correspondence as justification for his continued disregard for the safety of our forces. Could he have missed the "Defense Watch Article", evidence from Kuwait and Afghanistan, or "The Lessons Learned Report" on our Homepage? As you know, General Thompson's boss commissioned this report from the soldiers in theater. Its truly a shame when people in power let their own emotions dictate their professional actions. Our forces are being killed and injured due to a defective Mil-Spec lubricant for small arms, and he states "you have received sufficient information on the matter from DSCR officials and further review of the matter by this office is not warranted".
I will see you in town this Monday.
Thanks,
Brad

Dear Mr. Giordani:
Thank you for your e-mail messages of April 28th, April 29th and May 28, 2003. You forwarded copies of e-mails between you and employees from the Defense Supply Center Richmond (DSCR), concerning the cancellation of orders for your product. Based on our review of this correspondence, we believe that you have received sufficient information on the matter from DSCR officials and further review of the matter by this office is not warranted.
On a separate issue (on which you have corresponded with us in the past), we note that on May 15, 2003,, the Commander, U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Command (TACOM) provided you a comprehensive response concerning the use of MILITEC-1 for small arms lubrication. We believe that the TACOM Commander has afforded you viable options to resolve this matter and whether you choose to take advantage of them or not, is your prerogative. However, further review of the matter by this office is not warranted.
Finally, if you are aware of any specific misconduct involving the Department of Defense or its employees, please provide us with specific details. Fully identify the subject (or subjects) of your allegations to include the location, explain the nature of the misconduct, list key witnesses, and provide any evidence you may have to support your allegations.
Sincerely,
Leonard Trahan, Jr.
Director Defense Hotline

I recently sent you three (3) message. The first message is dated, April 28, 2003 and the other two (2) messages are dated April 29, 2003.
MILITEC, INC. once again provided your office with the "Smoking Gun", and once again, your office failed to act, resulting in more injury and death to our forces.
