In fact, Militec agreed with DOD representatives to limit its military service promotion to weapons and machine shop applications. After DLA secured concurrence from representatives of all the military services, it agreed to supply, without restrictions or blocks, to all military services, containers of MILITEC-l marked "weapons and machine shop use only. Further, DLA agreed to supply all sizes of Militec products (for any orders) to non-military activities of DOD, all other federal government agencies, and law enforcement activities of state and local governments. DLA and Militec have complied with these agreements, but some individuals within the AMC establishment have not complied, by preventing the Militec product stock numbers from being listed correctly in the Army Master Data File (a.k.a. Army Log). DLA officials have stated that they have never heard of active NSNs' not being listed in the Army Log.Paragraph 3.: "DASA (procurement) recently made an inquiry as to why the Army was not a recorded user of the Militec items." [inaccurate]
In fact, since last fall, the DASA has made several inquiries on the status of Militec items. Recently, he directed the chief of the Army Catalogue Office to list Army as a recorded user and sponsor of the items.Paragraph 3.
In fact, more than 20 Army units, plus numerous Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard units, have ordered Militec products this year. Furthermore, Militec products have been prevented - improperly - from being listed in the Army Master Data File (a.k.a. Army Log) since DLA assigned additional NSNs in September, 1995.
This action has prevented many Army units, that have repeatedly tried to order product, from processing their orders, and thereby from expressing "interest." Therefore, it is nonsense to allege there is no user interest.
