Memorandum For Commander, Regional Support Group Units. SUBJECT: Weapon Lubricant (MILITEC-1)

1.This office has received several inquiries about subject lubricant being used by unit personnel in support of maintaining both individual and crew served weapons.

2. MILITEC-1 is a weapon grade synthetic based metal conditioner that serves as a lubricant and metal conditioner. It has been proven to reduce weapon malfunctions due to inadequate lubrication, does not mist during repeated firing, and reduces carbon build-up, therefore, reducing man-hours expended on cleaning and maintenance.

3. Enclosure 1 list the national stock numbers that are assigned by the Defense Logistics Agency for various sizes of subject lubricant available. Upon receipt of FY 97 funds, MILITEC-1 weapon lubricant may be requisitioned using Class III funds. Enclosure 2 is copies of evaluations and customer's feed back that has been provided to the manufacturer.
