1980 Mercedes Benz 300 TD

I have had this car for five years and have performed most of the minor and some major maintenance actions. There was 95,120 miles indicated at the time of the evaluation. These cars have no temperature indicators or tachometers to perform a "true" comparison of the performance of the product before or after. The following observations are pragmatic, but do serve the purposes of this evaluation paper.

Initial start-up is easier during morning hours (at 250F), with a higher RPM of about 300-400 RPM. The noise reduction is more noticeable in this car than with the other test vehicles. Idle condition is now much smoother, and the car has a better acceleration rate than before the addition of Militec. The oil pressure indicator is the standard gage that reads 0-3 BAR's. Normal pressure for this engine always "pegs" the indicator at normal engine speeds. At idle, the pressure may indicate 2.0-2.5 BAR's depending on outside air temperature and engine temperatures. with the addition of Militec, the idle pressure indicates 1.7-2.2 BAR's using the same variable criteria as before. The high speed "free-way" evaluation continues to indicate a much smoother engine vibration and more quiet operation. I have observed an increase of 2-3 miles per gallon in fuel efficiency. These are positive asset traits when working a diesel engine of any type.

1964 Corvair Monza

This car's engine is a six cylinder, horizontal opposed, twinned carbureted, 110 horse power Chevrolet of German porsche heritage. It was completely rebuilt to new factory specifications by me and my son. With 3,467 miles on this fresh engine, I added 10 ounces of Militec at his oil change. The engine's typical air-cooled vibration frequency immediately changed to a steady, smooth droning noise. Internal noise reduction is appreciable at all RPM's, but especially noticeable at highway speeds. Oil pressures are typically 10-15 PSI lower than before. Because there were no temperature indicating gages in the standard Corvair model, I have not been able to document a change to temperature.
