SUBJECT: Results From Testing of MILITEC-1 Weapons Metal Conditioner

1. The results from testing of MILITEC-1 Weapons Grade Synthetic Based Metal Conditioner. NSN 9150-01-415-9112, were very positive during its initial use. This product seemed to meet or exceed lubrication and conditioning standards of weapons in comparison of this product to CLP.

2. MILITEC-1 was tested under field conditions by select personnel in the Squadron. The product was mainly utilized on the M16A2 Rifle and the M9 Pistol. These weapons were fired during qualification at a live fire range. The M16A2 Rifles were also used in firing blank ammunition during a rotational training exercise.

3. MILITEC-1 was used to initially lubricate and condition these weapons, utilized in daily maintenance, and used during the final three stage cleaning of these weapons. All the soldiers utilizing MILITEC-1 responded generally the same when questioned about MILITEC-1's performance. All soldiers stated that they experienced no malfunctions in the performance of their assigned weapons and that MILITEC-1 cut time in cleaning of carbon and lead residue and field grime by at least 50%. MILITEC-1 also maintained a conditioning on the weapons during extended use in the humid and hot environment of Ft Polk, LA.

4. As a conclusion to this testing all soldiers who utilized this product would recommend that MILITEC-1 be utilized instead of CLP for this weather environment. The only question that is unanswered about MILITEC-1 that could not be answered during testing here is: How does MILITEC-1 perform under extremely cold conditions? If testing concludes the same under both extremes and the cost of this product is competitive to that of CLP then MILITEC-1 is, by far, the superior product.
